About Me
I'm Fatima Fayyaz, a Mathematics graduate from NUST, Islamabad. I teach mathematics, programming and computer science, and I work with students from school level up to bachelors university level. My focus is on making a concept make sense before drilling practice questions — I've found that most students aren't weak at maths, they've just had one idea explained badly and everything after it stopped connecting. I'm patient, I move at the student's pace, and I'm comfortable being asked the same question three times. I also run a YouTube channel where I break down mathematics topics into short lessons.
Teaching Experience
During my bachelor's at NUST I regularly tutored my peers and juniors, both one-on-one and in small groups. The subjects I covered included calculus, linear algebra, discrete mathematics, probability and statistics, alongside Python programming and introductory machine learning. Most of them came to me a week or two before an exam, having fallen behind on a topic, so I got a lot of practice at diagnosing exactly where someone's understanding broke down and rebuilding from that point. My YouTube teaching has also made me comfortable explaining clearly in an online format with worked, step-by-step solutions.
I've been teaching a variety of subjects for 4 years now, with a focus primarily on English writing and communication skills as well as music theory.
