Ume Urwa
About Me
My name is Ume Urwa, and I am currently a sixth-semester student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) at Air University, Kharian Campus. My academic journey began with a strong foundation in the sciences, having completed my FSc Pre-Medical from Aspire College. Transitioning from a medical background to the dynamic field of computing was a conscious and driven choice, fueled by a growing fascination with technology, software development, and problem-solving. Throughout my degree, I have embraced the core principles of computer science, building a robust understanding of both theoretical concepts and practical applications. Currently, I am deeply engaged in full-stack web development, mastering everything from frontend user interfaces to complex backend architectures, and efficiently managing my codebases using Git and GitHub. Beyond my university curriculum, I have a genuine passion for sharing knowledge and mentoring others. While I have not yet held a formal, institutional teaching position, I have extensive informal experience tutoring my neighbors' children and my cousins. This hands-on experience has been incredibly rewarding, allowing me to refine my communication skills, practice patience, and learn how to adapt complex technical concepts into easily understandable lessons for younger learners. Looking ahead, I am eager to bridge the gap between my academic pursuits and professional aspirations, leveraging my technical skills in web development and my natural aptitude for teaching to make a meaningful impact in both fields.
Teaching Experience
While I do not have formal, institutional teaching experience, I have spent considerable time tutoring and mentoring. I have regularly taught neighbor children and cousins, helping them break down complex concepts and improve their academic performance. This hands-on experience allowed me to develop strong communication, patience, and lesson-planning skills in an informal setting.
I've been teaching a variety of subjects for 4 years now, with a focus primarily on English writing and communication skills as well as music theory.
