About Me
My name is Qaisar Shakoor. I am a dedicated educator and life sciences professional with a strong academic foundation and over two years of teaching experience. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology and a Master’s in Microbiology, and I am currently pursuing an MPhil in Industrial Biotechnology. I have worked as a Teaching Assistant at Askari Cadet College, where I developed lesson plans, supported individual student learning, and promoted a collaborative and inclusive classroom environment. In addition to teaching, I gained valuable research experience as a Research Assistant on a COVID-19 project at Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University, where I conducted experiments, managed data, and followed strict research ethics. I’ve also completed internships in clinical microbiology at the National Institute of Health and Ali Medical Center, building hands-on skills in laboratory procedures and diagnostics. Alongside my academic and professional work, I have volunteered with the UNDP, Pakistan Red Crescent Society, and Shaukat Khanum Hospital, helping children and communities through education and health awareness. I am passionate about teaching, mentoring, and helping students grow intellectually and personally. My aim is to create a positive learning environment where students feel encouraged, supported, and inspired to achieve their best.
Teaching Experience
I have tutoring experience both in formal academic settings and through online platforms. While working as a Teaching Assistant at Askari Cadet College, I regularly tutored students one-on-one and in small groups to reinforce classroom learning, clarify difficult concepts, and help them prepare for exams. My approach focused on understanding each student’s learning style and adjusting my teaching methods accordingly to ensure they grasped the subject matter effectively. In addition to my college teaching role, I volunteered as an online tutor for children through the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). During this time, I taught basic science and general knowledge topics, engaged in interactive discussions, assigned tasks, and provided regular feedback. This experience helped me develop patience, adaptability, and a student-centered approach to tutoring in a virtual environment. Tutoring has allowed me to build strong connections with students, identify their strengths and areas for improvement, and encourage them to become confident, independent learners. I truly enjoy guiding students beyond memorization, helping them develop critical thinking and a genuine interest in science and learning.
