About Me

I am currently pursuing an MS in Bioinformatics at COMSATS University Islamabad. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Bioinformatics from the same institution with a cumulative GPA of 3.44/4.00. Throughout my academic journey, I have continuously developed my communication and public speaking skills. I have also actively participated in various projects that strengthened my abilities in teamwork and collaboration. In addition to academics, I served as the Decor Head of the Biome Student Society and secured second position in a “100 Words Story Writing” competition. I am also honored to have received the Scotland Scholarship for Young Women and Girls, which further motivated me to pursue excellence in my field. Along with my group members, I developed a tool as part of my BS final year project, named ExpressionProfiler, which secured first place at the Jobs and Career Expo 2024. This tool is designed to extract biological insights from differentially expressed genes (DEGs), including pathway analysis, drug interactions, network interactions, and other related biological insights. My future goal is to contribute to the early diagnosis of liver cancer by identifying potential biomarkers through the application of my bioinformatics expertise.

Teaching Experience

I worked as a Teaching Assistant for the subject Bioinformatics Scripting from March 2024 to February 2025. During this one-year internship, I assisted in teaching the fundamentals of Python and its applications in solving biological problems. I helped students understand key scripting concepts, debug their code, and apply programming skills to real bioinformatics datasets. This experience not only enhanced my own technical and teaching abilities but also strengthened my communication and mentoring skills.
